Old Hollywood Revived in 2010

2010 Academy Awards

May I begin by saying I absolutely love David Rockwell’s executed vision for Kodak Theatre this year. Apparently the stage was built for comedic timing, but I also found its simplicity and crispness quite refreshing for the eye as well. The 100,000 Swarovski Crystal curtain sure was the star of the show, and brought the show down to Hollywood Earth (which is filled with shiny and sparkling things.)

And then there were the stars.

Beginning with the woman of the hour…

Ms. Sandra Bullock, who exemplified Hollywood glamour.

Simple & full of class

Demi Moore

Though I usually like to see a bit more contrast between skin and dress color, this dress is absolutely fabulous.

Could she look any more beautiful?

Brian Geraghty in a perfect fitting tuxedo

Cameron Diaz also brought in the glam, & I love her side swept hair which goes perfectly with the flow of her dress.

Chris Pine looked dapper in a classic tuxedo.

Queen Latifah’s diamonds & pink sapphires hugged her figure & made her look absolutely incredible.

Tom Ford, thank you for keeping men well-dressed, & for doing it yourself.

While Jake Gyllenhaal will probably always have a baby face, he looked very sophisticated his tux.
Nice style choice…& nice scruff!

Jake with sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal.

And then Penelope Cruz entered in this stunning number, which for some would be difficult to pull off, but she did it splendidly.
